Another assault has been launched on the ancestral residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, located within the Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The Tuesday night incident marked the third time the lawmaker’s family house has come under attack.
However, this time, local vigilantes and vigilant youths successfully thwarted the assailants before they could inflict any damage.
One suspect was captured during the attempted invasion.
According to insider sources, the arrested individual confessed to being part of the group and disclosed that this latest raid was the third targeting the senator’s home.
Security operatives recovered a cutlass and charms from the suspect, who has since been handed over to the police for further questioning.
Meanwhile, other members of the gang are reportedly still at large.
The media team of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan confirmed the development, urging the public to remain composed while justice takes its course.
“We call on the public to remain calm and steadfast in the pursuit of justice. Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s commitment to truth and her tireless representation of her constituents should not be met with violence or intimidation,” the statement read.
Repeated attempts to reach the State Police Public Relations Officer, William Ayah, for comments were unsuccessful, as his phone remained unreachable at the time of reporting.
