Israeli strike kills father, son in southern Lebanon

Must read

A deadly Israeli strike hit a southern Lebanese village on Tuesday, killing a father and his son, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry and state media.

The attack, which occurred in Shebaa, also left another son injured, as reported by the National News Agency.

The Israeli military has not yet issued a response.

The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed, “An Israeli enemy drone carried out a strike in the village of Shebaa, killing two people and wounding one.”

Despite a ceasefire agreement signed in November, which was meant to halt hostilities, Israel’s military actions continue.

Last Friday, Israel had declared it would persist in striking Hezbollah targets across Lebanon, disregarding the condemnation from the Lebanese government following a massive attack on southern Beirut.

This assault took place just before the Eid al-Adha holiday, and Iran-backed Hezbollah claimed that the strikes destroyed nine residential blocks.

However, Israel maintained the strikes were aimed at underground drone production facilities.

In response to these ongoing strikes, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned them as a “flagrant violation” of the November 27 ceasefire, which was intended to conclude over a year of conflict, including a full-scale war with Hezbollah.
