According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sly Stone passed away at the age of 82, surrounded by his family after a prolonged battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other underlying health issues.
It’s worth noting that Sly Stone redefined the landscape of pop, funk, and rock music with his iconic songs, leaving an indelible mark on the world.
However, his music continues to inspire generations of devotees, cementing his undeniable influence on the industry.
Prior to his passing, Sly Stone completed the screenplay for his life story, a project that builds upon his memoir published in 2024.
