The abductors of three members of the Deeper Life Bible Church in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State have reportedly demanded a ransom of N15 million for their release.
AFRIPOST reports that the victims were kidnapped on Monday evening while returning from a Bible Study session in the Kasemola area of Ogbese community.
According to a family source, the kidnappers have contacted both the victims’ families and the church leadership, demanding N5 million for each of the three abductees.
“They’ve reached out and are asking for N15 million in total. We’re seeking support from church members and well-wishers to raise the amount,” the source said.
In response to the situation, leaders of the Deeper Life Bible Church have mobilized prayer teams to intercede for the safe return of the abducted members.
A church insider confirmed that the case has been reported to the Ondo State Police Command and the Amotekun Corps.
Police spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, confirmed the incident, stating that operatives have begun combing nearby forests in a bid to locate the victims and secure their freedom.
“I can confirm that there has been a kidnapping incident, though I cannot confirm the exact number of victims at the moment,” he said, adding that efforts are underway to rescue them and apprehend those responsible.
It was also gathered that a joint team of police officers and operatives of the Amotekun Corps are actively pursuing leads to track the kidnappers and ensure the safe return of the church members.
