The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the appointment of Sylvester Aigboboh as Acting Deputy State Chairman and Pedro Esangbedo as Acting Vice Chairman representing the Edo Central Senatorial District.
A statement released on Sunday by Acting State Chairman Jarret Tenebe and Secretary Lawrence Okah confirmed that these appointments take immediate effect.
This move comes after Chief Jarret Tenebe was promoted from Deputy State Chairman to State Chairman, and following the defection of Francis Inegbeniki, the former Vice Chairman for Edo Central, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to the statement, both Aigboboh and Esangbedo will serve in their new roles in an acting capacity until the party conducts its next state congress.
The APC constitution requires such appointments to ensure the party’s operations continue smoothly.
The statement emphasized that the new appointees are individuals of reputable character and integrity.
They are expected to collaborate closely with State Chairman Emperor Jarret Tenebe and other party executives to provide effective leadership, particularly as the party gears up for the 2027 general elections.
