Ogun police officer arrested for cybercrime, armed robbery

A constable with the Ogun State Police Command has been apprehended for his alleged role in multiple criminal activities, including cybercrime and theft.

According to insider reports the arrest of Constable Idris Oloyede was executed on Wednesday by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit under the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), stationed at Eleweran in Abeokuta.

Sources within the police disclosed that Oloyede, who is identified by Force Number 537972 and serves with the patrol unit of the Odeda Divisional Headquarters, became a suspect after investigators received actionable intelligence linking him to the offences.

Upon the operatives’ arrival, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Odeda promptly surrendered Oloyede for further inquiry. He has since been moved to SCID headquarters for comprehensive questioning and investigation.
