A tragic case of suspected food poisoning has led to the deaths of four people, including three children, in the Kaga Hassan area of Magama Jibia, Katsina State.
Security sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama on Thursday that the victims—Hussaina Ayuba, Ahmed Ayuba, and Nana Ayuba—passed away at the Jibia General Hospital after consuming a meal suspected to have been contaminated.
A fourth child, identified as 12-year-old Hafsat Ayuba, survived the ordeal and is currently receiving medical care.
Authorities have arrested a 20-year-old woman, Fatima Abdulkadir, believed to have prepared the spaghetti allegedly responsible for the poisoning.
Two others have also been taken into custody as investigations continue.
Law enforcement officials have visited the scene, while the bodies of the deceased were returned to their relatives for burial in accordance with Islamic customs.
