NSCDC officers shoots three in Bauchi for resisting arrest

An attempted arrest by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) ended in violence, leaving three individuals injured in Tudun Wada village, located in the Liman-Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

According to reports obtained by Zagazola Makama, the incident took place on May 21, 2025, when a patrol team from Alkaleri LGA arrived to make an arrest.

However, tensions quickly flared, resulting in a confrontation between the security operatives and local residents.

Two residents, Hamza Sarkin Aska and Jibrin Adamu, suffered gunshot injuries to their legs, while a 12-year-old Almajiri named Umar Rabiu from Yola Doka village sustained a bruise on his right leg.

Emergency responders rushed the victims to General Hospital Yuguda. Hamza and Jibrin were admitted for treatment and are said to be in stable condition, while young Umar was treated and sent home.

Following the incident, the Bauchi State Police Command launched a probe to investigate the circumstances that led to the shooting.
