BREAKING: Seven prisoners flee correctional facility after wall collapse in Osun

A jailbreak has occurred at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ilesa, Osun State, as no fewer than seven inmates escaped following the collapse of part of the prison wall.

The incident, which took place recently, created an opportunity for the prisoners to flee the premises undetected.

According to preliminary accounts, the structural failure compromised the integrity of the facility, resulting in a gap large enough for the escapees to make their way out.

It remains uncertain whether the collapse was triggered by environmental factors or was intentionally orchestrated.

Security personnel have since intensified efforts to locate and rearrest the escaped inmates, while surveillance around the area has been heightened. The Nigerian Correctional Service is expected to issue an official response soon.

As investigations are still ongoing, updates will follow as more information becomes available about the incident and the whereabouts of the fugitives.
