Federal High Court redeploys five judges in sudden shake-up

Must read

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, has initiated a major reshuffling of five judges across different divisions in a move aimed at enhancing judicial efficiency.

This decision was made public through a formal release by the court’s Director of Information, Catherine Christopher.

As outlined in the release, the judges and their new stations are: Justice M. Umar, who moves from Enugu to Abuja; Justice Tijjani Ringim, reassigned from Gombe to Yola; Justice M. Segun-Bello, transferred from Abakaliki to Enugu; Justice Bala Usman, moved from Yola to Awka; and Justice Amina Mohammed, who now heads to Gombe from Awka.

These changes are to be implemented without delay. All affected judges have been advised to expedite the delivery of any outstanding judgments at their former postings.

Meanwhile, judges currently serving in the Abakaliki and Katsina divisions are expected to manage all matters—pending or fresh—within their jurisdictions until further guidance is issued.

Additionally, the court announced that all matters previously before Court No. 5 in Abuja will now fall under the jurisdiction of the newly posted judge, eliminating the need for fresh applications for case reassignment.
