Wike reveals over 60 schools upgraded in FCT

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has disclosed that the FCT Administration has successfully renovated and equipped more than 60 public schools throughout the territory.

Wike made this known on Friday during his inspection of various ongoing infrastructure projects in Gwagwalada and Kwali Area Councils.

“We have done a lot of work in schools. The schools we have renovated and furnished are more than 60 so far,” he said.

The minister emphasized that in addition to road construction, significant efforts are being directed toward developing essential infrastructure, particularly in the health and education sectors.

“I can tell you that no sector would be left abandoned, every sector will be focused on,” Wike stated, stressing that the administration is committed to ensuring balanced development across all areas.

He also underlined the importance of roads in promoting economic growth and improving quality of life.

Referring to the road linking the A2 corridor to Pai, Wike said farming communities would now have better access to urban markets to sell their agricultural produce.

The minister further noted that good roads contribute to curbing insecurity. “When people commit offences and there is no road to chase them, it would become a problem,” he said.

“But when you see this kind of road with streetlights, you will have to think twice before you commit any offence,” he added.
