A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Terhide Utaan has hailed the recent inauguration of former Benue State Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, as a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BOT), describing it as a pivotal moment in the PDP’s journey toward national revival.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Engr. Utaan congratulated Chief Ortom, acknowledging his long-standing commitment and visionary contributions to the party. “Chief Ortom’s elevation to the BOT is a clear recognition of his unwavering dedication and leadership,” Utaan said.

“I am confident his experience will serve as a catalyst for the party’s continued unity and growth nationwide.”

Utaan also praised the PDP leadership for establishing a seven-member Reconciliation Committee chaired by former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki.

He described the move as a strategic step towards resolving internal rifts and repositioning the party for future success.

“This initiative reflects the party’s genuine resolve to foster unity and rebuild trust among its members,” he noted. “It is a bold and commendable approach that will reinvigorate our structures and restore the faith of our grassroots supporters.”

Expressing optimism about the PDP’s future, Utaan emphasised the importance of unity, dialogue, and sacrifice among party faithful across the country.

“With steadfast commitment and shared purpose, the PDP remains a formidable force for democracy and good governance in Nigeria,” he said.

He further reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and urged members in all 36 states and the FCT to remain resilient and committed to the party’s rebirth.

“Let us stay the course, work together, and reposition the PDP as the leading platform for national transformation,” he urged.

Utaan concluded by invoking divine guidance for the party’s leaders and members, expressing confidence in the PDP’s capacity to drive Nigeria’s progress.
