In a statement released by his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare, the monarch, who also serves as the Permanent Chairman of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC), hailed the President for selecting competent and credible individuals to lead the commission.

Oba Ogunwusi specifically commended the appointment of Charles ’Diji Akinola as the pioneer Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the commission, describing him as a seasoned professional with deep experience in public service, development planning, and public-private partnerships.

The monarch also congratulated Senator Olu Adetunmbi, who was appointed as Chairman of the SWDC board, and Hon. Princess Nike Omoworare, representing Osun State on the board, noting her dedication to public service and regional advancement.

He further applauded the inclusion of other board members: Bolaji Ariyo, Joseph Olugbenga, Olumuyiwa Olabimtan, Adewinle Martins, Ibrahim Olaifa, Kabiru Lakwaya, retired General Abdul Adamu, Arinola Fagbemi, Ukoha Onyekwere, Howell Ihenacho, Olugbenga Olufehinti, Tele Ogunjobi, Funmilayo Tejuosho, Fatai Ibikunle, and Lateef Ajijola—describing them as well-suited for the tasks ahead.
