NBTE approves eight new courses for Federal Polytechnic Bauchi

The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, has earned full accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to begin eight fresh academic programmes.

The approval was announced in a statement by the school’s Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Rabi’u Wada, who revealed that the achievement means the Polytechnic now enjoys a complete accreditation status across its programmes.

Wada emphasized that the decision, formally conveyed by NBTE’s Director of Polytechnic Programmes, Fatima Umar, highlights the institution’s growth and aligns with both Nigeria’s educational demands and international academic developments.

The approved programmes include HNDs in Crime Management, Cooperative Economics and Management, Taxation, Cybersecurity and Data Protection, Artificial Intelligence, Strategic Communication and Media Studies, and Film and Multimedia Production. Additionally, a National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning was approved.

Although NBTE praised the Polytechnic’s commitment to quality education, it also outlined areas that need attention, such as department funding, infrastructure, and equipment needs.

The institution is said to be actively working to meet these requirements in line with NBTE guidelines.

Reacting to the development, the Rector, Sani Usman, hailed the approval as a confirmation of the Polytechnic’s capacity to deliver top-notch vocational and technical training in support of national development goals and global standards.
