Ondo APC ward chairman abducted, kidnappers demand N100 million ransom

Suspected kidnappers have abducted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 5 Chairman in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nelson Adepoyigi.

According to information gathered, Adepoyigi was taken from his home along Ifon-Owo Road on Monday evening.

The abductors reportedly contacted his family shortly after the incident, demanding a N100 million ransom for his release.

Local residents, especially within the agriculturally rich Ose and Owo areas, have voiced growing concerns over the region’s deteriorating security conditions.

The kidnapping has further heightened fears within the community.

Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction. Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade disclosed that efforts are underway to track down the kidnappers.

He stated that officers from the Ifon Division, in partnership with the Nigerian Army, local vigilantes, and hunters, have launched a search operation in the area.
