Kebbi APC cracks down on ex-lawmaker, nine party executives over alleged breaches

Must read

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has taken disciplinary action against former federal lawmaker Muhammad Shehu Koko and nine other party officials from Koko Local Government Area.

Among those sanctioned are key party leaders including the local APC Vice Chairman, Muhammad Danyado; Secretary Biyaminu Muhammad; and Women Leader Talatu Zauro. Other affected officials include the youth and financial secretaries, as well as the welfare officer.

According to a letter obtained by Channels Television, the suspension was prompted by accusations of undermining the party’s leadership, engaging in anti-party conduct, and alleged intimidation of executive members.

The letter was jointly endorsed by the Koko APC chairman, Muhammad Maibarga, LGA executive chairman Sirajo Usman Koko, and 14 other local party stakeholders.

Though the former legislator’s camp has remained silent on the issue, sources close to him hinted that the disciplinary action may be linked to his reported plans to run for Senate—an ambition reportedly causing friction within the state’s APC leadership.
