Police arrest four suspected kidnappers in Anambra raid

Four suspected kidnappers, including a woman, have been apprehended by the police during a late-night operation in Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The suspects, identified as Chigozie Udolisa (aka T. Dollars), Anaolu Joseph (aka Blue), Chukwuka Udolisa (aka Udokamiri), and Chinaza Udemezue, were arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad and Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Awkuzu.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the operation took place around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9, following credible intelligence.

During the raid, the police recovered three vehicles: a black Lexus GS 350 with registration number ENU 561 LY, an ash Toyota Camry with registration number UWN 614 HK, and a navy blue Toyota Corolla bearing registration number UMZ 135 AD.

Other items found at the scene included an HP laptop, a car-spraying machine, assorted motor wires, and substances suspected to be methamphetamine, locally known as “Mkpurummiri.”

Ikenga revealed that all four suspects confessed to being part of a criminal gang involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, and vehicle theft.

The female suspect, Chinaza Udemezue, also disclosed that her boyfriend, who was present at the hideout, managed to flee with their firearms when police stormed the location.

He added that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to track down additional members of the syndicate still at large.
