Operatives from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a fuel tanker that had been ingeniously altered to smuggle illegal drugs across Nigeria
The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, revealed the discovery in a statement shared via his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday.
He stated that the find was made during a strategic stop-and-search exercise, where officers detected a specially constructed compartment concealed within the bottom of the tanker.
Sharing a video clip of the operation, Babafemi wrote, “Narco-trend: Fuel tanker on top but drug tanker beneath! Watch how NDLEA officers uncovered a large hidden space built inside the tanker to transport drugs across the country.”
