Bobrisky breaks silence on VDM’s arrest, calls out ‘clout chasers’

Popular Nigerian social media personality, Bobrisky has reacted to the arrest of controversial activist VeryDarkMan.

In a video message posted online, Bobrisky admitted that he initially found humor in VDM’s arrest but later decided to delete his reaction video out of compassion. “I had to delete it because my real person is kind,” he said. “Even when they arrested him, I wasn’t happy. I just laughed because of the history between us.”

He pointed out that VDM had previously mocked him during his own run-in with the law in 2023, expressing joy over Bobrisky’s troubles. “He was laughing, he was happy, but he forgot that this life—what goes around, comes around,” he said.

Addressing the growing calls for VDM’s release, Bobrisky criticized those who seemed more interested in online trends than justice. “You people saying ‘Free VeryDarkMan’—were you there when he was hurting others? People have a right to speak up when someone wrongs them,” he said. “Many of you are just clout-chasers. You don’t care about justice; you just want attention.”

Despite their public feud, Bobrisky stated that he holds no personal grudge. “I’ve never met him. I don’t follow him. I don’t wish him bad. But I’ll stand by what I said—you can’t drag my brand and expect silence.”
