Troops from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have apprehended four individuals suspected of terrorist activities during a recent operation in Taraba State.
According to reports obtained by Zagazola, the arrests were made in response to a distress alert on May 7, which reported the movement of armed individuals in the Tau area of Ardo-Kola Local Government Area.
During the operation, three of the suspects were caught in possession of firearms, while the fourth was detained for further questioning.
Items seized during the mission included two pump-action rifles, a locally made firearm, 42 rounds of ammunition, three machetes, four mobile phones, and a national identity card.
Initial findings suggest that the suspects may have been summoned by a man identified as Alhaji Ardo Sani, who is currently under investigation for possible involvement in the case.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade and Sector 3 OPWS, praised his troops for their rapid and disciplined response.
He reaffirmed the brigade’s dedication to maintaining peace and protecting lives and property throughout Taraba State.
The commander also appealed to the public to support security efforts by sharing timely and reliable intelligence that could assist in ongoing operations and foster stability in the region.
