Inter Milan edge Barcelona in epic UCL clash to book final spot

Must read

Inter Milan delivered a footballing spectacle at the San Siro on Tuesday night, defeating Barcelona 4–3 after extra time in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg, sealing a 7–6 aggregate win and a place in the final.

The Italian giants burst into action early, with Lautaro Martínez and Hakan Çalhanoğlu scoring in the first half to give Inter a 2–0 lead.

But Barcelona came alive after the break, responding through Eric García, Dani Olmo, and Raphinha to overturn the deficit and lead 3–2.

Just when it seemed Barcelona would advance, Inter’s Francesco Acerbi struck in stoppage time to level the score, sending the match into extra time.

Davide Frattesi then emerged as the hero in the 99th minute, firing home the winning goal to send the Nerazzurri faithful into delirium.

Barcelona’s hopes of returning to a Champions League final were dashed despite a spirited performance.

Meanwhile, Inter will now prepare for a shot at European glory in the final scheduled for May 31 in Munich, where they await the winner between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
