In a bid to strike a balance between security and public convenience, Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State has adjusted the curfew limiting motorcycle and tricycle movements in Minna.
The curfew will now be enforced from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily, beginning on May 5.
The review follows a recent assessment of security conditions in the metropolis, according to an update shared by the governor’s office.
Governor Bago, who is widely recognized for his agricultural reforms, has previously emphasized the importance of public cooperation in achieving peace and security.
The earlier 6:00 PM restriction was introduced to address a spike in criminal activities, especially those linked to street gangs and bike-related crimes.
