US-Based Nigerian activist accuses Natasha of plotting to frame Akpabio

A Nigerian activist based in the United States, Dr. Sandra Duru, has made explosive allegations against the suspended senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, alleging she offered N200 million to fabricate damaging accusations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

In a Facebook live session on Thursday night, Duru, popularly known as “Prof. Mgbeke,” alleged that Akpoti-Uduaghan attempted to recruit her to accuse Akpabio of organ harvesting after earlier sexual harassment claims failed to gain traction.

Duru provided what she said were call logs and WhatsApp messages as evidence, contradicting Natasha’s public claim that they had never spoken.

She described the senator as “a pathological liar” and said their interactions revealed a broader political plot.

According to Duru, Akpoti-Uduaghan told her that the surest way to gain popularity in Nigeria was to attack the sitting government, describing Nigerians as “gullible and hungry.”

She also claimed that Natasha confided in her about being promised either the governorship of Kogi State or the position of Minister of Petroleum as a reward for her campaign.

Duru further alleged that Akpoti-Uduaghan revealed a strategy by her sponsors to remove Akpabio as Senate President in order to weaken President Bola Tinubu’s political grip and prevent his re-election bid.

In the one-hour, eight-minute broadcast, Duru also accused Natasha and her allies of bribing former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, to disrupt Senate committee proceedings and avoid presenting evidence regarding her sexual harassment claims.

“She told me the sexual harassment allegation was false,” Duru said, claiming Natasha expressed disappointment in Ezekwesili and another associate for not standing by her during the Senate probe.

Duru also recounted that Natasha allegedly wanted her to write to foreign agencies, including UK parliamentary bodies, to level fresh accusations of organ harvesting against Akpabio. She claimed Natasha falsely linked Akpabio to the death of a young woman named Umoren, alleging the Senate President harvested the deceased’s kidney for his wife.

“She was focused on getting Akpabio to step down,” Duru said, adding that Natasha believed Akpabio was the major obstacle to her backers’ plans in the National Assembly.

Though Duru refrained from revealing everything Natasha allegedly said about her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, she claimed the senator accused him of poisoning her and vowed to retaliate.

“I refused to take money from her and that’s when the threats began,” Duru said during her broadcast, insisting that she had shared key names and evidence with relevant authorities.
