The Edo State High Court sitting in Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, has reversed the removal of Taju Alade as chairman of the local council, declaring the process unlawful.
In a ruling delivered on Wednesday, Justice B. A. Okoh ordered that Alade be reinstated without delay. The judge also directed the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to provide adequate security for Alade as he resumes his duties.
The court dismissed the objection raised by the state government, affirming that it had the legal authority to hear the matter.
