Tragedy struck Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), following the discovery of a deceased student, Jatau Shebah Rilokwah, aged 23, in what appears to be a case of suicide.
The lifeless body of Rilokwah was found on April 27, 2025, inside the senior staff quarters of the institution.
Sources revealed that security personnel Emmanuel Gyawo made the grim discovery after being instructed by Professor Shedrack Jatau, who was away at the time, to check on his son. Upon arrival, Gyawo found the young man hanging from the ceiling.
Authorities were immediately notified, prompting the arrival of police officers led by the Divisional Crime Officer from Angwan Lambu.
Though the body bore no injuries or signs of foul play, no suicide note was recovered from the scene.
Rilokwah was transported to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Keffi, where a medical team confirmed his death.
His remains have been moved to the hospital’s mortuary as investigations continue.
