Sources suggest that Garba’s relationship with Governor Muhammed Umaru Bago has been strained for several months, with tensions reportedly simmering behind closed doors.
A key point of contention was the recent rejection of Garba’s nominee for the position in Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA), which he had recommended as his preferred candidate for the upcoming local government elections.
Garba hails from Shiroro, and his nominee’s name was allegedly replaced at the last minute, exacerbating the strain between the two.
Despite the rumors, Garba’s spokesperson insisted that the Deputy Governor remains in office. “There is nothing official to announce. If there were, I would have issued a statement. What’s being reported is simply not true,” she said, emphasizing that speculation about Garba’s movements is common given his position.
Despite these reassurances, there has been a noticeable decrease in activity around the Deputy Governor’s official residence, sparking further speculation about his whereabouts.
