Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has approved the appointment of 168 individuals into various advisory and support capacities, aimed at improving inclusive governance and deepening community engagement across the state.
The appointments, disclosed on Tuesday in an official statement signed by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, reflect the administration’s commitment to building a more representative and efficient government.
Among the newly appointed aides are five Principal Special Assistants on Political and Community Relations, one Principal Special Assistant on Pension Matters, 60 Senior Special Assistants on Political and Community Relations, one Senior Special Assistant on Labour Matters, 38 Special Assistants on Political and Community Relations, and 63 Personal Assistants serving in similar roles.
According to Gidado, the new aides were selected from across all 20 local government areas of Bauchi State, with many of them being former officeholders at various levels of government.
He explained that the appointments were made based on their track record, leadership ability, and understanding of grassroots dynamics.
Governor Mohammed encouraged the appointees to approach their new roles with dedication, transparency, and a strong commitment to the people’s welfare.
He described the appointments as a strategic step to ensure broader participation in governance and to maintain the momentum of his administration’s achievements.
He further stated that the inclusion of individuals from different backgrounds and communities would enable the government to remain responsive, accountable, and development-driven. The appointments take immediate effect.
