Two killed as rival cult groups clash in Delta community

Two individuals lost their lives following a violent confrontation between rival cult groups in the Obiaruku area of Delta State, the police confirmed on Monday.

The spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, verified the incident in a WhatsApp response but withheld further information.

The fatalities reportedly occurred after members of the Eiye and Vikings confraternities clashed on Sunday evening.

It remains uncertain whether the victims were affiliated with either of the cult groups. Both were attacked and killed at separate spots within the community.

In one instance, members of the Eiye cult allegedly stormed a local bar, firing shots into the air to disperse patrons before targeting and killing one of the victims.
