Must read

Gunmen abducted Harira Abdullahi, wife of Alhaji Shuaibu Suleiman Galadima, the District Head of Aboro in Sanga Local Government Area, and her daughter, Maryam Suleiman Galadima, in an alarming incident that occurred around 7:36 pm on Sunday.

The attackers stormed the residence of the district head, seizing the two women. A community resident, speaking under the condition of anonymity, confirmed the event to reporters early Monday.

The source noted that the attack left the area in turmoil, prompting locals to organize a rescue mission.

“The attack threw the community into confusion, and residents quickly mobilized to rescue the abducted women,” the resident stated.

However, efforts to track down the assailants proved fatal, as the gunmen opened fire on the rescuers.

“As we followed them into the bush to rescue the victims, the gunmen shot at us.

“Tragically, one of our members, Umar Abdullahi, was killed, and another, Suleiman, was injured and is now being treated,” the source reported. The victim’s body was buried according to Islamic rites.

The source called for stronger security measures to ensure the safe return of the abducted women and to safeguard the community.

Meanwhile, efforts to contact the Kaduna State Police Command for official comment were unsuccessful as DSP Mansir Hassan did not respond to inquiries.

This kidnapping is the latest in a series of abductions for ransom that have plagued rural communities in Kaduna State, raising concerns about the ongoing security challenges in the region
