Six-year-old boy slaughtered for alleged money ritual in Gombe

Must read

A tragic incident has sent shockwaves through Bura-Bunga village in Bojude District of Kwami Local Government Area, Gombe State, following the gruesome murder of a six-year-old boy, Muhammad Ibrahim Bulama, allegedly for ritual purposes.

The young boy, who had been missing since mid-February, was reportedly lured away from his grandfather’s house by 18-year-old Babayo Musa around 5:30 p.m. in the evening.

What followed was a chilling sequence of events that culminated in the child’s brutal killing in a bush near Wuro-Doya.

According to police findings, the boy was handed over to a 45-year-old man, Magaji Adamu, who admitted to slaughtering him with a knife.

He then dismembered the child’s body discarding the upper part in a well and passing the lower half to two other men, identified as Jibrin Muhammad (also known as Ya’Haji) and Usman Abubakar.

The killing was allegedly carried out for ritualistic purposes aimed at generating wealth. Further investigations revealed that the lower half of the boy’s body was taken by traditional healers, Idris Dayyabu and Abdulrauf Hussaini, who confessed to requesting human parts.

They reportedly removed the flesh and buried the remains after performing a ritual.

Authorities believe the main architect of the killing is a man known as Gimba, allegedly the unwed biological father of the victim, who is currently on the run.

He is accused of initiating the plan and coordinating the ritual arrangement with native doctors.

The murder only came to light after the child’s grandfather, Ibrahim Bulama, formally lodged a complaint at the Bojude Divisional Police Headquarters on April 18.

This triggered an investigation by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, which eventually uncovered the horrific details behind the boy’s disappearance.

Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Yahaya, has condemned the act as “barbaric and inhuman,” pledging that all individuals involved in the heinous crime would be brought to justice.

He also urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities.

“This case is not just a crime; it is a stain on our collective humanity,” the Commissioner said. “We will not rest until every person responsible is made to answer for their actions.”

The murder has stirred fear and outrage across the state, with residents calling for stronger security and stricter punishment for ritual killings.
