Police in Ebonyi State have recovered the bodies of a man and his son at Ebebe Junction in the Abakaliki metropolis.
According to the state police spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, the bodies were evacuated on Friday, though the exact cause of death remains unclear.
Ukandu explained, “When I received a report about the incident, I immediately contacted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area. The officers acted quickly and the bodies were removed.
“An investigation has been launched into the matter, and we will update the public once the inquiry is completed. At this time, the cause of death is unknown.”
He also confirmed that no arrests have been made, as the investigation is still ongoing.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the deaths may be linked to food consumed by the victims, allegedly prepared by a woman who is currently at large.
