Must read

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the establishment of four new agencies following the signing of key bills into law, a move aimed at improving governance structures and accelerating socio-economic progress in the state.

This development was made public on Thursday, April 24, 2024, through an official statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, who highlighted the initiative as part of broader efforts to reform state institutions and enhance service delivery.

The newly instituted agencies are:

  1. Kano State Protection Agency (KASPA)

  2. Kano State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KASIAA)

  3. Kano State Information and Communication Technologies Development Agency (KASITDA)

  4. Kano State Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (KASMEDA)

Governor Yusuf remarked that these laws are not just administrative tools but critical to transforming Kano into a forward-looking, inclusive, and economically vibrant state.

He stressed that the agencies will serve as drivers for innovation, SME growth, advertisement regulation, and public safety enhancement.

He further explained that the creation of the new bodies is expected to stimulate job creation, attract both local and foreign investments, and ensure the effective execution of government policies.

The Governor also warned that any breach of the newly established laws would attract serious consequences, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to upholding legal standards and ensuring compliance across the board.

This initiative is part of Governor Yusuf’s larger vision to revamp public sector operations and position Kano as a model state in innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
