13 cybercrime suspects caught in EFCC raid on Abuja hideout

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), through its Abuja Zonal Directorate, has arrested 13 individuals suspected of internet fraud in a well-coordinated operation in Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory.

The arrest was carried out on Thursday, April 24, 2025, after the commission received credible intelligence about the suspects’ alleged involvement in cyber-related offences.

Acting swiftly, EFCC operatives raided their hideout and took the suspects into custody without resistance.

In the course of the operation, the anti-corruption agency seized several items believed to be tools of the illicit trade.

Recovered from the scene were three laptops, 17 mobile phones, and two vehicles, all of which are now being examined as part of the investigation.

The EFCC stated that the arrest is part of its renewed strategy to combat online fraud and bring perpetrators to justice.

Authorities say the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation, and once investigations are wrapped up, they will be charged in court.

The Commission also reaffirmed its commitment to ridding the country of internet fraud, stressing that such operations will continue across various regions in Nigeria.
