The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a woman who allegedly posed as a Vehicle Inspection Officer (V.I.O) to defraud unsuspecting individuals under the guise of offering government employment.

According to police spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspect, named Face Samuel, was apprehended on Tuesday, April 22, in Yola after officers from the State Intelligence Department received a tip-off about her activities.

Samuel, who resides along Army Barracks Road in Yola North, is accused of deceiving four individuals—Blessing Kefas, Abel Samuel, Evlyne Amos, and Friday Adamu—by promising them jobs with the State Ministry of Transportation and collecting ₦350,000 in total.

The police revealed that she had impersonated a V.I.O official multiple times and wore an official uniform, which she claimed was given to her by someone yet to be identified.

She reportedly confessed to the allegations during interrogation.

Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris advised citizens to be wary of impersonators and report any suspicious behavior to the authorities.

He also assured that a thorough investigation is underway to uncover other victims and determine if more individuals were involved in the fraudulent act.
