Chelsea are reportedly exploring a potential move for Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy as they look to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Premier League giants have been long-time admirers of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, but his significant release clause continues to be a stumbling block.
With another transfer window on the horizon, Chelsea are said to be weighing up Guirassy as a more financially viable alternative in case they fail to land the Nigerian star.
According to Spanish publication Fichajes, the London club is lining up a €75 million bid for Guirassy, who has had a standout season with Dortmund.
The Guinea international has found the net 28 times and registered five assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, emerging as the UEFA Champions League’s top scorer despite Dortmund’s underwhelming form this campaign.
Meanwhile, Osimhen—currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli—has also enjoyed a prolific season, scoring 29 goals and providing six assists in just 34 games.
His league-leading 21 goals have been instrumental in pushing Galatasaray closer to their 25th Turkish Super Lig title.
Negotiations regarding Osimhen’s future are ongoing, with Napoli open to letting him go for a fee similar to that of Guirassy’s projected offer.
Despite interest from Galatasaray and other clubs, Osimhen’s long-term stay in Turkey remains uncertain.
AFRIPOST had recently reported that the 26-year-old striker has agreed terms for a summer switch to Manchester United, although no official confirmation has been made.
