Zamfara: Gov Dauda opens up on defection to APC

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has firmly denied reports suggesting that he intends to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Taking to his verified accounts on Facebook and X, Governor Lawal reiterated his allegiance to the PDP, dismissing the viral speculation as false and misleading.

“I am Dauda Lawal, a bona fide member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Disregard the fake news from detractors determined to distract us from the RESCUE MISSION we have embarked on,” he stated.

According to him, the focus of his administration remains on fulfilling the trust and responsibilities entrusted to him by the people of Zamfara, not on political distractions.

The statement comes in response to recent speculations suggesting the governor was considering a political switch to the APC.

Zamfara State, situated in Nigeria’s northwest, continues to be a strategic point of interest in the nation’s political landscape.
