Police investigate killing of Omoge’s grandson in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the tragic death of Prince OgoOluwa Omoge, the grandson of the late music icon Comfort Omoge.

OgoOluwa was reportedly killed by a scavenger on Friday in Okitipupa, Ondo State.

Police spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident on Monday, stating that the suspect had been apprehended and the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Akure.

Ayanlade assured that thorough investigations would be carried out to uncover the circumstances surrounding Omoge’s death.

“The suspect is currently in our custody at the SCID in Akure, and the investigation is ongoing. Justice will prevail, and the suspect will face the law,” Ayanlade stated.

The incident, which occurred on the Ayeka/Igbokoda Expressway in Okitipupa Local Government Area, has left residents shaken.

In response, the Chairman of Okitipupa LGA, Mr. Andrew Ogunsakin, engaged with local leaders, members of the Hausa/Fulani community, traditional rulers, and youth groups to promote peace and unity in the area.

Ogunsakin praised the prompt action of the police in apprehending the suspect and reassured the public of his administration’s dedication to ensuring the safety of all residents in the region.
