Panic in Delta as four children go missing in Ogwashi-Uku

Tension has gripped the Ogwashi-Uku community in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State following the disappearance of four children over the weekend.

The missing children — Ebube and Miracle, who are siblings, and Chimanda and Excel from a different family — were reportedly abducted from the Umuokwe quarters of the town.

Sources within the community claim that three unidentified women, who had recently secured temporary accommodation in the area, are suspected to be behind the abduction. The women were said to have lured the children with the promise of buying them biscuits from a nearby shop.

When the children failed to return home, worried neighbors raised an alarm.

Upon checking the apartment where the women were staying, it was discovered to be vacant, with both the women and the children nowhere to be found.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, revealed that the suspects disappeared just three days after renting the apartment.

“There’s no trace. The women didn’t leave behind any contact details—no names, phone numbers, or rental agreement,” Edafe said. “The landlady who rented the apartment to them without proper documentation has been taken into custody, as her conduct raises suspicion.”

Investigations are ongoing as the police continue efforts to locate the missing children and apprehend the suspects.
