A driver with Guaranty Trust Bank, Mohammed Abo’ore, widely known in his area as Amore, was fatally attacked by suspected hoodlums in the Fadikpe area of Chanchaga Local Government, Niger State, late Sunday night.

AFRIPOST gathered that the tragic event unfolded around 10:00 pm on April 20, 2025, as Abo’ore was making his way back home. During an altercation with one of the suspects, he was reportedly stabbed and later died from his injuries.

The Niger State Police Command confirmed the occurrence on Monday, with its spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun providing further details.

He said the command was alerted at approximately 10:45 pm by a local vigilante leader who reported that a group of miscreants were spotted smoking cannabis in the Rafi part of the Fadikpe community.

Abiodun noted that vigilante members moved swiftly to confront the suspects while waiting for police reinforcements. Abo’ore, a resident of the neighborhood, offered to assist in apprehending the culprits.

“Unfortunately, in the process of getting one of the miscreants arrested, Abo’ore was stabbed with scissors by one Nura Buhari and escaped,” Abiodun revealed.

He said the victim was quickly taken to the General Hospital in Minna, but succumbed to his injuries.

One suspect, Abdullahi Rabiu, was arrested and is cooperating with investigators. Abiodun confirmed that efforts are ongoing to track down the other individuals involved.
