Police probe death of man, woman found naked in Kogi apartment

The police in Kogi State have launched an investigation following the discovery of two lifeless bodies, a man and a woman, in an apartment located in the Ankpa Local Government Area.

The spokesperson for the Kogi State Police Command, SP William Aya, confirmed the incident on Saturday, identifying the deceased as Sheriff Salifu and Blessing Adama, both said to be residents of Ankpa.

It remains unclear whether the two individuals were in a relationship.

According to police sources, the bodies were found unclothed inside the room, raising suspicions about the nature of their deaths.

Aya described the event as “sudden and unnatural,” and stated that the command has begun a full investigation to uncover what led to the deaths.

The report was first made at about noon by Salisu Ibrahim, a resident of Alo in Ankpa, who informed officers that his tenant, Sheriff Salifu, had not stepped out of his room as he usually did by 9:30 a.m.

Alarmed by the silence, a relative of the deceased reportedly accessed the room by climbing through the ceiling.

Inside, he found Salifu and Adama lying motionless and unclothed, prompting an immediate alert to the police.

The police say further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
