Bees attack claims life of Osun farmer, two others injured

A tragic incident occurred at the Alalade Compound in Ada, Osun State, when a farmer, Mr. Abideen Olabiyi, was killed by a swarm of bees while working on his farm.

Two other individuals were seriously injured during the attack.

The incident took place on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Olobe Farm in Igbajo, and was confirmed by the Otan Ayegbaju Police Division on Saturday.

The injured victims, identified as Mr. Solomon Kingsley and Chief Olusegun Alalade, are also residents of the Alalade Compound.

They were both rushed to an undisclosed hospital following the attack.

A police report stated that Mr. Babasanjo Alalade, a relative of the victims, reported the incident.

The report described how the three men were attacked by a swarm of bees while working on the farm.

Tragically, Mr. Olabiyi died at the scene, while the other two victims were able to escape with injuries.

The remains of the deceased have been taken to the Healthy Paradise Mortuary in Ikirun for an autopsy.

Meanwhile, the two injured men are receiving medical treatment.
