Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made strong accusations against China, claiming the country is directly involved in supplying weapons and ammunition to Russia.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Zelenskyy revealed that Ukrainian intelligence and security agencies have uncovered evidence suggesting Chinese involvement not only in arms delivery — including gunpowder and artillery — but also in weapons production on Russian soil.
“We have finally received information that China is supplying weapons to the Russian Federation,” Zelenskyy said.
“We believe that Chinese representatives are engaged in the production of some weapons on Russian territory.”
The president further stated that Ukraine is prepared to provide detailed information on the matter and will release supporting documentation in the coming week.
“We are ready to speak in detail about this,” he added.
Zelenskyy noted that his government is observing growing military collaboration between Beijing and Moscow.
“We see the cooperation between these two countries in this area, and we must acknowledge it is happening.”
However, the Associated Press reported that Chinese authorities have continued to deny any involvement in supplying weapons to Russia for its conflict with Ukraine.
On a separate issue, Zelenskyy highlighted a shift in Russia’s military strategy, indicating that while attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have decreased, the intensity of strikes on civilian targets has increased.
“They reduced their strikes on energy. That’s a fact,” he said. “But I wanted us to pay attention to this – Russia did not reduce the number of strikes, that was the strategy… by reducing [strikes on] energy, they are hitting other civilian infrastructure.”
