In a sweeping crackdown on criminal activity, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command apprehended 62 individuals during late-night raids on April 17.

The operation, which kicked off around 11:40 p.m., targeted notorious hideouts and abandoned structures across several districts of Abuja.

Police sources revealed that the coordinated sting involved officers from multiple divisions, including Kubwa, Nyanya, Kabusa, Lokogoma, Utako, Gwarinpa, and Bwari. These areas were identified as high-risk zones known for harbouring criminal elements.

During the operation, law enforcement agents discovered substances suspected to be Indian hemp along with a variety of illegal drugs.

“All suspects are being held for preliminary screening and questioning,” said one police official. “Those found culpable will face prosecution in accordance with the law.”
