Abducted Katsina elder killed by bandits after collecting ransom

Must read

A security expert based in Northern Nigeria, Bakatsine, has disclosed that Malam Ibrahim Dangwale, a well-known elder from Turare in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area of Katsina State, was murdered by his abductors even after a ransom was delivered.

Sharing the disturbing update via X (formerly Twitter), Bakatsine revealed that the deceased’s body was discovered in the Danmusa axis of the state.

“Malam Ibrahim Dangwale was found dead after his kidnappers collected ransom from his loved ones. His remains were located in Danmusa,” he posted.

Dangwale was said to be a respected voice in his community before he was forcefully taken by bandits—an incident that drew wide concern across the local government.

Relatives had reportedly gathered and handed over the ransom amount with hopes of facilitating his release. Sadly, this effort did not lead to his rescue.

Bakatsine condemned the killing, describing it as “a betrayal of humanity,” and called for urgent government action to tackle the menace of banditry that continues to ravage northern Nigeria.
