A man identified as Umar Auwal, also known by the alias “Abba Dujal,” has turned himself into law enforcement in Kano
His surrendering following a series of aggressive police raids aimed at flushing out criminal elements across the state.
According to insider reports shared with Zagazola Makama, Auwal, a resident of Wudil Local Government Area, surrendered to the Anti-Daba Unit of the Kano State Police Command around 5 p.m. on April 14, 2025.
During his confession, he allegedly admitted to committing several murders, armed robberies, and thefts involving mobile phones and motorcycles in Kano and neighbouring regions.
Sources within the police confirmed that the suspect is in custody and that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of his operations and any associates involved.
His surrender reportedly came on the heels of a major operation conducted by the police on April 12, which led to the arrest of 61 suspects from identified hotspots across the city and surrounding areas.
Authorities also recovered multiple incriminating items during the sweep.
“The Command is fully dedicated to purging the state of criminal activities,” a police spokesperson stated, adding that intelligence-driven efforts will continue to ensure safety and peace in the region.
