The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has initiated an investigation into the theft of a black Toyota Hilux assigned to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu.
The vehicle was reported missing on Friday while an ONSA official attended Juma’at prayers in Abuja.
Sources familiar with the incident revealed that the vehicle had been parked around 1:05 p.m. directly opposite the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) complex in Area 10.
The official left the car to attend prayers at a nearby mosque, but when he returned, the vehicle was gone.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who was the first to report the incident on X (formerly Twitter), stated that the theft was promptly reported to the Garki Police Division by 2:00 p.m., triggering a swift response from law enforcement agencies.
In the wake of the theft, the FCT Police launched a citywide stop-and-search operation, deploying officers to key checkpoints across major routes in and out of the city.
Efforts are currently focused on locating the stolen vehicle and apprehending those responsible for the crime.
