Air Peace has offered to assist in the repatriation of Nigerian girls trafficked to Ivory Coast, providing free flights and medical treatment upon their return.
The airline’s Chairman, Allen Onyema, made the commitment in a statement, emphasizing the need for collective action to combat human trafficking, which he described as both inhumane and morally reprehensible.
The issue of Nigerian girls being trafficked to Ivory Coast was brought to light by activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan. In response, Onyema expressed his deep concern and pledged to help bring the victims back to Nigeria, highlighting Air Peace’s readiness to offer free transportation and medical care.
“Human trafficking in any form is cruel, heartless, and completely unacceptable. It is a grave violation of human dignity,” Onyema stated.
He further added, “At Air Peace, we are committed to bringing these young girls home at no cost. We will also ensure they receive free medical care and examination at Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja.”
Onyema called on the Nigerian Embassy in Ivory Coast to collaborate with Air Peace to facilitate the safe return of the girls.
He also urged the Nigerian government to take responsibility for their education and work to reunite them with their families.
