On April 11, 2025, security forces successfully thwarted two separate attacks by armed bandits in the Malumfashi and Agagiwa regions.
According to intelligence sources, the first assault took place at approximately 9:30 PM in Fanisau Village, located within the Malumfashi Local Government Area.
The sources revealed that the bandits attacked the village, prompting an immediate response from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Malumfashi.
Bravely, he led a police patrol team into a fierce gunfight with the assailants. The confrontation resulted in the bandits retreating from the area.
Shortly thereafter, at around 10:00 PM, a distress call came from Agagiwa Village, reporting that bandits had set up a blockade on the Malumfashi-Funtua Road and fired shots at a passing motorist.
The DPO in response, deployed an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) to the scene, where they engaged the attackers in another exchange of gunfire. The bandits were once again forced to flee.
