Actor RMD lambasts skitmaker Isbae U for calling him by name “Richard”

Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo, widely known as RMD, recently expressed displeasure in a viral video over how content creator and skitmaker, Isbae U addressed him during a YouTube interview.

The incident occurred during an episode of Isbae U’s show Curiosity Made Me Ask, where the 30-year-old host, born Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, repeatedly referred to the 63-year-old actor simply as “Richard,” a move that sparked backlash online for its perceived lack of respect.

RMD, who recently released his new film Radio Voice The Movie, currently showing in cinemas across Nigeria, did not take the perceived disrespect lightly. He addressed the issue publicly, calling out Isbae U for failing to show proper regard, especially given RMD’s status and seniority in the industry.

Adding more weight to his reaction, RMD invoked the memory of Isbae U’s late father, veteran Yoruba actor Kamal Adebayo, popularly known as Sir Kay-Kamoru, who passed away in December 2022. This move drew mixed reactions, with some supporting RMD’s stance on respect and others questioning whether referencing the deceased was appropriate.

When Isbae U said; “So Richard”

RMD swiftly interrupted; “Your father, your father, your papa, your papa left toe.”
