El-Rufai reveals reason behind high-profile politicians meeting Buhari in Kaduna

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has dismissed any political undertones tied to a recent visit to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as a post-Sallah courtesy rooted in unity and friendship.

Taking to his 𝕏 handle, El-Rufai shared a video of the gathering, emphasizing that the delegation, which included notable figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-governors Aminu Tambuwal, Gabriel Suswam, and Achike Udenwa, simply joined Buhari for Jumaat prayers and lunch in Kaduna.

El-Rufai light-heartedly noted that their political rivals need not worry, stating, “It’s not politics; it’s brotherhood. Besides, we’re all politically irrelevant—just sharing a meal and prayers with our mentor.”

The visit, which took place on Friday, April 11, saw the attendees observe prayers at the Yahaya Road Mosque before proceeding to Buhari’s residence for a meal.
